Below, you will find a breakdown of the rate increase effective Jan. 1, 2007 and how it will affect your bill. The actual percentage increase to your electric bill will vary, depending on your electric use and rate class. For our average residential member who consumes 800 kilowatts of electricity per month, the increase will amount to less than $4 per month. The new rates, which affect all rate classes – residential, seasonal, commercial and industrial – will be reflected on the bill you receive in February 2007.

As a non-profit electric cooperative, Tri-County’s primary mission is to meet members’ needs for safe, reliable electric service. We strive to keep our rates at the lowest price possible, consistent with sound economics and prudent management. There are times, however, when the economic climate dictates a need to seek additional revenues in order to continue maintaining the level of service that you expect and deserve. Due to ongoing increases in the costs we pay for fuel, materials, insurance premiums and interest charges, this is one of those times.
