Jerome Sasala has resided in the area since 1969, when he was hired as a music teacher by the Cameron County School District. He moved to Potter County after purchasing a farm near Austin in 1982.
Sasala has worked in education as an elementary and secondary teacher, assistant principal, elementary and secondary principal and, for the past several years, served as the superintendent of the Austin Area School District. In addition, he has worked as a carpenter, home builder, plumber and residential electrician.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a Master of Arts from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Administration from St. Bonaventure University.
He and his wife, Judy, reside on their working beef farm and are the parents of two grown children.
