Coronavirus update - What Tri-County is doing

We at Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative are taking steps necessary to maintain the health of our employees.  Below is a list of the posts we are putting on Facebook daily but we realize not all of you use Facebook.  We want to keep you informed, we want you to stay healthy and we want you to know we are people you can count on.

Tri-County REC is responding to the spread of COVID-19, while remaining committed to providing reliable electricity to our members. If you are experiencing a power outage or other emergency, you can contact us 24/7 at 1-800-343-2559.

As a response to the spread of COVID-19, many of our members are being asked to stay at home. Please be aware that this might lead to increased energy consumption and ultimately impact your monthly electric bill. For ways to reduce your energy use while at home, please check out the energy-saving tips that can be found through our website, by clicking on “Together We Save” under the Member Services drop-down menu.

We’re reminding members that our offices remain staffed, while our lobbies are closed to public entrance to safeguard our employees and consumer-members against spread of COVID-19. We continue to take calls regarding your account, as well as for power outages and other emergencies, which can be reported 24/7 by calling toll-free at 1-800-343-2559.

To minimize the chances of exposure to COVID-19 among our employees, Tri-County has implemented alternating work schedules for some workers and has required that some employees work from home. We also remind our employees to wash hands regularly, sanitize work areas frequently and to stay at home if they show signs of illness. We encourage our members to do the same. Let’s work together to keep our community healthy.

One of the best parts of belonging to a cooperative is that our employees are often your friends and neighbors. We know and appreciate the fact that members like to express their thanks to our employees when they see them working in their communities. In an effort to ensure we can continue keeping the power on and minimize the chance of exposure to COVID-19, we ask that, for the time being, members show their support from a distance when employees are nearby. If you see our employees or crew members working in your area, we ask that you remain at least 10 feet away. This will not only help prevent spread of COVID-19 but will also keep you and our employees safe.

Because of our commitment to the safety of our employees and consumer-members, Tri-County REC offices remain closed to public entrance until further notice. If you typically pay your electric bill by visiting our office, please note there are many additional ways to pay your bill:

Members are our priority, and in these times of financial uncertainty, we’re prepared and willing to work with members on payment arrangements in case of required quarantine or loss of income as a result of COVID-19. We will also be following PUC-issued guidelines regarding the disconnection of service for non-payment. Should you have concerns about keeping up with your electric bill, please contact the office at 1-800-343-2559.

During this stressful and challenging time, we want members to know we we will continue to be here for you and your families. We also truly appreciate the continued support and patience of our members as we work through this difficult period together. We’re People You Can Count On and here to help with any questions you have along the way. If you have concerns about your account, please give us a call at 1-800-343-2559.
